The Catalog

This is a catalog of the creations within the Asylumentary. This page also contains updates on the progress of all Asylumentary projects in the works, which will eventually be added to the catalog when they're finished.

Note: Also, I'll be looking around for any more of my past works to put up here. The book will have a price but these past works will be free to view.

Projects In Progress

27/03/07: Second round of proof-reading is complete!
Well, I've finished the second round of proof-reading. Now I'm considering a third round of proof-reading to make sure there are no mistakes, like punctuation errors. To be honest I'm tempted to just get on with finishing the illustrations and artwork and then get the book self-published.

But I guess it would be a good idea to do one more proof-reading round. Shouldn't be hard anyway. Hopefully when I print it out, I will finish the job in a week or two. Objective 1 is complete, but it's been replaced with a new objective, which is pretty much the same thing: Proof-read again!

As I said on the main page, the cover has been completed. I've also been working on the layout of the back cover and spine.

Objective 1: Finish current proof-reading round (top priority)
Third round of proof-reading to be done.

Objective 3: Work on cover art
For now, this objective is complete. Click here to view the results. As you visualise the awe and power of the cover art, feel free to masturbate until you are possessed by demons.

Objective 4: Work on layout design
I've made good progress with this objective.

The rest of the objectives (read the update below) remain the same.

5/03/07: Proof-reading is well underway!
More than half of the material has been proof-read so far. About 60 out of the 105 pages. While we're here, let's make the list of what I have to do. This 'objectives list' may seem a little Goldeneye 64ish, but let's have at it:

Objective 1: Finish current proof-reading round (top priority)
60 out of 105 pages have been proof-read. I wouldn't rule out another proof-reading round.

Objective 2: Finish illustrations
7 out of 8 illustrations have been drawn.

Objective 3: Work on cover art
I still need to figure out what cover I want.

Objective 4: Work on layout design
I still need to figure out what layout design I want.

Objective 5: Manufacture book
Of course, I won't try and do this myself, cos I'd fuck it up! When the content is good and ready, I'll seek a book manufacturing company to print the pages and put them together like... well like a book I spose.

23/02/07: Musical progress and change of band name!
As well as the writing I have also continued to experiment with creating some more chaotic and obscure tunes. One song I created used so many instrumental tracks that I had to turn down the overall volume a bit, since it was hitting the peaks too many times. That's also a problem I've faced with my vocal recording - the recording settings were a little too loud! At least they've made for good rehearsal tracks though.

The new band name is Neuro Vomit. I think it suits the music more. Neuro Vomit is a metaphoric name, meaning to vomit forth endless streams of insanity and hatred. The lineup for the band is...

...me.

I'll be producing all vocals and instruments. The instruments include guitars, drums, bass and all sorts of weird electronic noises. The vocals include black metal shrieks, death metal growls, spoken words and various sinister voices. I used to mimic "evil voices" at the age of 15. Then I kept on doing it quite a lot. But I've been branching off into my own vocal styles.

If you want to know what my black metal voice sounds like, think of Dark Funeral's Diabolis Interium album with a touch of Impaled Nazarene. And I mean vocal-wise. My death metal vocals are heavily inspired by Vital Remains and The Project Hate. My weird vocals are influenced by Attila (Mayhem) and Gaahl (Gorgoroth).

My voices aren't clone of any of the mentioned bands, they're just similar. As for the instrumental side of things, I've been heavily inspired by Anaal Nathrakh and Aborym lately. Again, I don't want to clone them. They're just inspirations. Further inspiration mainly comes from within myself.

23/02/07: The book is nearly finished!
My upcoming weapon of literature is nearly done. Ok, that was lame way to open the update but it seemed like a good idea at the time. My point is, I have finished writing the stories. I just have to proof read them and make sure I've structured the content properly. Another thing that I need to do is get the illustrations finished. At the moment I'll be content with having one illustration to represent each story (as a 'sub-cover'). I won't rule out including more illustrations, but that depends on whether or not I want any more than that.

The book is tentatively titled Reviving The Darker Lifetime. The stories are:

1. Reviving The Darker Lifetime
2. The Eternal Oven God
3. Religious And Superstitious Fears
4. Content With Death
5. Dead Jelly Plague
6. Televised Zombification
7. Unholy Housewarming
8. Scum For The Slaughter

As for the nature and theme of the stories and drawings... they're fucked up! Just how I like them. What themes can you expect? Nothing short of dark and cynical black humour. The way I do it.

21/01/07: New book coming soon!
My new book (this time it will be a physical book instead of an e-document) has seen excellent progress. I started working on it in June 2005 and as an MS Word file, it's nearly 100 pages at the moment. I know that's not a lot for nearly two years of work but keep in mind I've had to do lots of other things (that aren't Asylumentary related). But I have put in a lot of effort over time, making sure my stories are written to my satisfaction.

Fortunately at the moment I've been able to pick up the pace on the book. At this stage the stories have been written and the content is undergoing heavy editing. The illustrations (one per story) are close to being finished. They look quite killer too, probably the best I've drawn. As for the content, I promise for it to be fucked up beyond belief. The stories in this book will be the darkest and most amusing ones I've written to date. If you liked any of my earlier works, you will love the new material I've worked on. Eight stories of pure insanity!

I'm aiming to finish the content before April 2007. Then I'll be on the lookout for a good self-publishing site. As long as I find a place to manufacture the books, then I will have found what I need.

21/01/07: Neuro Vomit debut CD in the works!
About the end of 2006 I started to create some tunes for the debut Neuro Vomit CD. I'm not sure when it will be finished but so far I have about half an hour of tunes, nice and dark to the touch! When I have finished all of the songs, there will be some mp3s available for listening.
